Office Hours Extended for In-Person Early Voting
In person early voting will continue until Monday, November 3rd at 4:30 in the County Clerk’s Office. The Clerk’s Office will be extending their hours for early voting until after Election to accommodate voters. The Clerk’s Office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Voters who are house bound or don’t feel well, may send an agent to act on their behalf to pick up a ballot. One person can act as an agent for up two people.
If you are sick on Election Day and cannot go to the polls, you can ask a family member or friend to act as an agent to pick up a ballot for you. If you are feeling ill on Election Day and no one is available to act as your agent, call the Clerk’s Office and we can make other arrangements. Ballots must be picked up at the courthouse only on Election Day. All ballots must be returned by November 3rd at 8:00 p.m. to be counted.

The Nebraska Secretary of State’s Office will be mailing out early voter applications to all registered voters the week of September 8th to September 16th. If you do not receive an application and want to vote early by mail, please contact the County Clerk’s Office 402-372-6002. To vote early by mail, voters need to complete an early voter ballot application and return to the County Clerk’s Office by October 23rd at 6:00 p.m. Early voting after October 23rd can be done in person at the County Clerk’s Office until November 2nd. Applications can be mailed to 200 S Lincoln St, Rm 100, West Point, NE 68788, e-mailed to clerk@cumingcounty.ne.gov, or faxed to 402-372-6013. Registered voters in Lincoln, Elkhorn, Bismark and Monterey Townships are in the SW4 precinct, which is an all-mail precinct. Ballots will be mailed to these voters 10 to 22 days before election.
