May 15, 2018 Primary Election, Sample Ballots

The polling places will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Voters in the City of West Point will vote in the Nielsen Community Center – Voters in Wisner City, Blaine Township, and Grant Township vote in the Wisner Auditorium – Voters in Beemer Village and Township, and Logan Township vote in the Beemer Municipal Office – Voters in Bancroft Village and Township,  Cleveland Township, and Neligh Township vote in the Bancroft Fire Hall – Voters in Sherman Township, St. Charles Township, Cuming Township, and Garfield Township vote in the Nielsen Community Center – Voters in Monterey Township, Lincoln Township, Bismark Township, and Elkhorn Township will be mailed a ballot no earlier than 22 days or not later than 10 days before the Election.

“Attention Voters” – Not all of the races listed will appear on all ballots in the county, in the manner published, as some candidates are elected only by district and some candidate races are required to rotate.  In compliance with 32-811, Nebraska Revised Statute, “If the names of candidates properly filed for nomination at the primary election do not exceed two candidates for each position to be filled, any such candidate(s) shall be declared nominated and their names shall not appear on any primary election ballots;” and “if the number of candidates properly filed for the nomination of a political party at the primary election for any county office election does not exceed the number of candidates to be nominated by that party for that office, any such properly filed candidate(s) shall be declared nominated and their names shall not appear on any primary election ballots.”

“Attention Nonpartisan Voters” – The State Democratic Party has allowed their entire ballot opened to nonpartisan voters.  The Republican and Libertarian Parties only allow nonpartisan voters to vote on the federal races, U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.  A nonpartisan registered voter must ask for this additional special ballot.

will be held commencing at 9:00 a.m. on March 27 and will continue at 9:00 a.m. on March 28, 2018, in the regular meeting room of the Board Cuming County Courthouse in West Point, Nebraska, which meeting will be open to the public. Handicapped accessibility is available at the east entrance of the courthouse. The Board of Supervisors will recess at 11:15 a.m. to convene as a Board of Equalization.  An agenda for such meetings is kept continuously current and is available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk at the courthouse and on the Cuming County Web Site. (www.cumingco.com) The agenda may be modified to include items of an emergency nature, only, at such meeting.

will be held commencing at 10:40 a.m. on January 30, 2018, in the regular meeting room of the Board in the Cuming County Courthouse in West Point, Nebraska, which meeting will be open to the public.  At said meeting a 451 permissive exemption form submitted by Franciscan Care Services will be considered.  Agenda for said meeting kept continuously current are available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk and on the County Web Site (www.cumingco.com).  The agendas may be modified to include items of an emergency nature, only, at such meeting.

will be held commencing at 9:00 a.m. on December 27, 2017, in the regular meeting room of the Board in the Cuming County Courthouse in West Point, Nebraska, which meeting will be open to the public.  At 11:00 a.m. on December 27th the Board will recess and convene as a Board of Equalization.  Agendas for said meetings are kept continuously current and available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk and on the County Web Site (www.cumingco.com).  The agenda may be modified to include items of an emergency nature, only, at such meeting.  The handicapped entrance is located off of Colfax Street on the east side of the courthouse.

Said hearing is for the purpose of hearing a variance request from Lee DeKarske to apply the Federal Emergency Management Agency Technical Bulletin 11 requirements instead of Technical Bulletin 10 requirements to his property at 1873 Sandy Point Drive, West Point, NE  68788.
