The Cuming County Assessor’s Office has an opening for an experienced, qualified clerical position. Would prefer (but not required) to have some working knowledge of assessment practices in Nebraska, reading legal descriptions, and/or GIS (mapping).

 Job description:

Primary function: to help with the fair and equitable valuation of real and personal property in Cuming County.

Duties include, but not limited to:

            Real Estate Mass Appraisal

            Property Inspections (internal & external)

            GIS Mapping

            Processing forms (Real Estate Transfer, Personal Property, Exemptions, etc.)

            Mass appraisal data entry

            General Office Tasks

                        Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint

                        Filing, answering phone, scanning, postage, typing

                        Computer sketching

Requirements:

            Read, speak and comprehend English

            Good communication skills, both in person and in writing

            Valid Nebraska driver’s license

            Possibly complete further Assessment classes requiring overnight travel

            Possibly travel within the county

Office hours:

Monday thru Friday 8:30-4:30

Hours may vary during real estate inspections

Salary:

Commensurate with experience and knowledge

Cuming County, Nebraska, Board of Supervisors and Juvenile Diversion Office is accepting applications for a part-time truancy officer. This is a 20 hour per/week position with varied office hours. This is a granted funded position which is supported in part by the Nebraska Crime Commission.

Board of Equalization Meeting Notice

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Board of Equalization of Cuming County, Nebraska, will be held commencing at 9:00 a.m. on July 14, and may continue on July 23 & 24, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., in the regular meeting room of the Board, Cuming County Courthouse in West Point, Nebraska, which meeting will be open to the public. The meeting is being called to hear real estate protests and to review applications for vehicle exemptions. Handicapped accessibility is available at the east entrance of the courthouse. An agenda for such meeting is kept continuously current and is available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk at the courthouse and on the Cuming County Web Site. (www.cumingco.com) The agenda may be modified to include items of an emergency nature, only, at such meeting.

Part-time Help Wanted

The Cuming County Treasurer’s Office is looking for part-time help. Must have computer knowledge and good people and math skills. Duties include customer service, processing titles, registrations and driver’s licenses and taking payments for real estate and personal property taxes. Hours may vary per week.  The State Democratic Party and Libertarian Party has allowed their entire ballot opened to nonpartisan voters.  The Republican Party only allows nonpartisan voters to vote on the federal races, U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.  A nonpartisan registered voter must ask for this additional special ballot.
