Funded greatly through the generosity of the Louis and Abby Faye Dinklage Foundation, a park named Dinklage Memorial Park is located between 11th and 12th Streets and Avenues H and I in Wisner. The park, which has a roofed-in picnic area and playground equipment for the kids, is located next to the city’s swimming pool. The pool is open to the public during the summer months and plays host to the Wisner youth swim team.
Wisner also offers an eight-lane bowling alley.
Outdoor recreation in the Wisner area includes boating and canoeing on the Elkhorn River, hunting, fishing, golf, skating and tennis.
For those who love adventure, a Jeep club schedules numerous events. Jeep owners head out on weekend excursions, which could include a drive through and along the Elkhorn River, depending on the height of the water.
