Sealed bids will be received by the office of the Cuming County Clerk until March 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., for the construction of two concrete paving projects, an asphaltic concrete overlay, and a 450’ Concrete Girder bridge. The project sites are located as follows: C-20(420) – Starting at the intersection of 11th Road and County River Road thence heading southeast on County River Road to the intersection of Beemer Road thence north on Beemer Road to the south end of structure C002002105P; C-20(571) –Starting at the Intersection of County River Road and Indian Trail Road thence heading southeast on Indian Trail Road to the intersection on Beemer Road, all in Cuming County, Nebraska.
The projects are referred to as “Beemer South: C-20(420) & C-20(571)” and shall include all labor, materials, transportation and equipment required to construct: C-20(420) – cold milling, class I -V, approximately 0.7 miles of 9” doweled concrete pavement with 4” bituminous base course and subgrade preparation, asphaltic concrete patching, approximately 1.3 miles of 3″ asphaltic concrete overlay, and a 4-span, 450’ concrete girder bridge; C-20(571) – approximately 1.2 miles of grading, 9” doweled concrete pavement and other related incidental work.
Copies of the Bid Documents and Specifications are open to public inspection at the office of the Cuming County Highway Superintendent, 200 South Lincoln Street, Room 202, West Point, Nebraska 68788. A set of documents may be obtained from Mainelli Wagner & Associates, Inc. for a non-refundable fee of $100.00. (6920 Van Dorn St., Lincoln, Nebraska 68506; PH: 402-421-1717). All Bid Proposals must be submitted on the forms furnished with the Bid Documents.
The sealed bids may be mailed or delivered to the County Clerk of Cuming County, 200 South Lincoln Street, Room 100, West Point, Nebraska 68788, and should be plainly marked as, “Construction Bid Proposal; “Beemer South: C-20(420) & C-20(571)”.
Along with its Bid Proposal, each bidder shall submit an unconditional Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the Cuming County Treasurer, Cuming County, Nebraska, in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the total Bid Proposal. Also, each bidder is to provide a Start of Construction Date and End of Construction for each site. The required completion date is October 15, 2022. The Contractor will be allowed two hundred and sixty (260) working days for completion of all work. The completion date will be the earlier of the date indicated in the bid proposal or the actual start date plus the allotted working days.
Within ten (10) days following the award of the Contract, the successful bidder shall furnish a surety bond or bonds in an amount equal to or greater than the full amount of the contract. The surety and form of the bonds are subject to the acceptance by the Cuming County Board of Supervisors.
Cuming County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Dept of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs of the Dept of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidden that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, sex, age and disability/handicap in consideration for award.

Cuming County Road Superintendent
The Cuming County Board of Supervisors will be taking bids for audit services for the 2020-2021 fiscal year until 10:00 a.m. April 27, 2021.
At the conclusion of our audit or audits, Cuming County would like the following reports:
• a report on the financial statements of the County, on a cash basis;
• a report on the internal control structure based solely on our consideration of the structure made as a part of the audit of the financial statements; and
• a report on compliance with laws and regulations that may have a material effect on the financial statements;
• if necessary, a schedule of expenditures of federal awards. (Please list the cost for a Federal audit as an individual item.)
The Board is requesting the audit report be submitted to the Nebraska State Auditors Office before June 30, 2022. Cuming County requests that three hard copies and an electronic file be provided to Cuming County at the conclusion of the audit. NIRMA (Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association) presented the Loss Prevention Control Award for 2020 to Cuming County. This has been the 4th time since NIRMA’s history that Cuming County was presented this award which recognizes the county’s efforts in loss control.
The Cuming County Treasurer’s Office is looking for part-time help. Must have computer knowledge and good people & math skills. Duties include customer service, processing titles, registrations & driver’s licenses and taking payments for real estate & personal property taxes. Hours may vary per week. The Board of Supervisor’s December 28th meeting will be held in public session in the courthouse 2nd floor meeting room beginning at 9:00 a.m. which is open to the public. In person early voting will continue until Monday, November 3rd at 4:30 in the County Clerk’s Office. The Clerk’s Office will be extending their hours for early voting until after Election to accommodate voters. The Clerk’s Office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Voters who are house bound or don’t feel well, may send an agent to act on their behalf to pick up a ballot. One person can act as an agent for up two people.
If you are sick on Election Day and cannot go to the polls, you can ask a family member or friend to act as an agent to pick up a ballot for you. If you are feeling ill on Election Day and no one is available to act as your agent, call the Clerk’s Office and we can make other arrangements. Ballots must be picked up at the courthouse only on Election Day. All ballots must be returned by November 3rd at 8:00 p.m. to be counted.
